ROME — In this Healio Video Perspective from the FLORetina-ICOOR meeting, Gemmy Cheung, MD, explains how the definition of pachychoroid is evolving with new understanding from imaging studies.

Choroidal thickness is increasingly less of a defining feature of pachychoroid and is being replaced by features such as choroidal congestion, pachyvessels and other morphological alterations discovered through ultra-widefield imaging.

“Overall, the understanding of this condition raises a lot of interest and is increasing with the whole community’s efforts in the research in this area,” Cheung said.
