Key takeaways:

  • A modern clinic should be equipped to offer a range of options for presbyopia treatment.
  • Presbyond is a good option for younger presbyopic patients.

VILAMOURA, Portugal — At the ESCRS winter meeting, Florian Kretz, MD, speaks about the importance of offering the whole range of innovative technologies in a modern clinic.

He is an adopter of advanced-technology IOLs, but IOLs are not always the best choice for presbyopic patients. Surgeons should be able to offer a range of options, from IOLs to phakic lenses to laser treatments.

Kretz recently adopted the Presbyond laser blended vision technology (Carl Zeiss Meditec), which is a good option for young presbyopes, he said.
