VIDEO: Surgeon shares retinectomy technique, indications for treatment
NEW YORK — In a presentation at OSN New York Retina, Stanley Chang, MD, shares pearls on effectively performing retinectomy in proliferative vitreoretinopathy and discusses when it is an appropriate treatment option.
According to Chang, surgeons should perform a retinectomy if they must remove subretinal membranes, silicone oil or perfluoro-n-octane, as well as when the retina has been foreshortened by anterior proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
