NEW YORK — In this Healio Video Perspective from OSN New York Retina, Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS, discusses the growing role of intravitreal and subretinal gene therapy in treating retinal diseases.

“All of these trials are showing us that gene therapy is definitely having a role in the treatment of common retinal diseases,” Vajzovic said. “Efficacy has proven to decrease the need for frequent injections for wet AMD and diabetic retinopathy, but also overall safety profiles are looking promising.”
