MILAN — At the ESCRS meeting, Jorge Alió, MD, PhD, speaks about two innovative uses of platelet-rich plasma in ocular conditions not responsive to other treatments.
Injected in the anterior chamber, platelet-rich plasma showed encouraging outcomes in the treatment of severe cases of chronic ocular hypotony in a study with 1 year of follow-up, and injected in the main lacrimal gland and fornix, it is showing benefits for the treatment of severe dry eye disease.
