SAN DIEGO — An updated software program designed to collect and store patient data is now available to ophthalmologists, Topcon announced here.

"We are launching the EyeRoute Synergy to the ophthalmology world here," Robert Gibson, vice president of marketing at Topcon told OCULAR SURGERY NEWS at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting. "It has several new features, and we rebuilt the networking infrastructure from the ground up."

EyeRoute Synergy allows physicians to collect, store and manage clinical images, videos and reports from more than 120 different ophthalmic devices, according to company literature. Although the software works with Topcon's non-mydriatic fundus camera, it can be used to register and align images from any fundus camera.

Images and reports can be accessed remotely over a secure network, and physicians can share patient data with colleagues and members of referral networks through the Synergy Community portal.
