BOSTON — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ASCRS meeting, Brandon D. Ayres, MD, ABO, weighs treatment options for achieving refractive goals after cataract surgery in patients with pseudoexfoliation.

Ayres highlights secondary IOL implantation with suture fixation of toric IOLs and intrascleral fixation of the Light Adjustable Lens (RxSight) as viable options to be more refractively accurate.

“I think having a technique for secondary IOL placement or refixation of an IOL when you’re dealing with a lot of patients with pseudoexfoliation is really critical and helps improve patient outcomes,” he said.
