BOSTON — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ASCRS meeting, William F. Wiley, MD, ABO, discusses his positive experience using Iheezo, a preservative-free ocular anesthetic for anterior segment surgery.

“The studies show that it can last upwards of 20 minutes,” Wiley said. “In our experience, it seems to be lasting longer than that — plenty of time to complete your full cataract case without having to apply additional medication.”

Wiley also discusses reimbursement and temporary pass-through status, a government fund designed to “spark innovation to allow for new products like Iheezo (chloroprocaine hydrochloride ophthalmic gel 3%, Harrow) to hit the market.”

“It helps your patients, it helps future innovation, current innovation and helps future reimbursement rates,” he said.
