SEATTLE — In this video, Susan E. Coffin, MD, MPH, attending physician and hospital epidemiologist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, talks about a new project to improve nosocomial infection prevention.

The CDC-launched Project Firstline aims to create and distribute content from a range of sources to improve hospital infection prevention among front-line health care workers and employees in health facilities.

The new content is meant to improve on PowerPoint presentations and checklists commonly used for training by making available educational content that is simple and direct in offering foundational, basic knowledge of how infections spread in health care settings and how to prevent it.

“I am very excited about this project,” Coffin said. “It aspires to answer a lot of big needs in the world of infection control.”
