Carol L. DiBerardino, MLA, ELS
DiBerardino is a Medical Editor at Healio. She has been employed by the company since 2017.
For the past 5 years, DiBerardino has worked primarily with the Infectious Disease News and Pediatrics team, as well as supporting the Primary Care, Neurology, and Psychiatry teams as needed.
DiBerardino earned her BA in English and a Master’s in Comparative Literature (MLA) from Temple University in Philadelphia. She has also earned the Editor in Life Sciences (ELS) credential from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS).
Before coming to Healio, she has been an editor and proofreader in publishing, pharmaceutical marketing and continuing medical education. She started as a Copy Editor and then a Managing Editor at W.B. Saunders Medical Publishers, where she trained incoming editors and proofreaders. She then worked for GSK, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Novo Nordisk and AstraZeneca.
DiBerardino was born and raised in Philadelphia. However, after her marriage to her wonderful husband, she has resided in Lindenwold, New Jersey.
In her free time, DiBerardino teaches at Camden County College as an adjunct professor for the English Department, where she teaches composition. She also serves on the crew of the Kalmar Nyckel, the tall ship ambassador of Wilmington, Delaware, where she gives tours and teaches about maritime history.
