I got into the medical field to solve problems, and the field of infectious diseases exemplifies that.
I just love the way that work begins to feel like a puzzle or logic problem as I search for the answers to conclude a diagnosis. People come in with various histories and exposures, and I get to put the pieces together.I think being able to combine the knowledge I have of both science and medicine is what is most rewarding. I am able to utilize both aspects of my education within my career. It also allows us to work within our communities and focus on prevention. If I had to go back, I wouldn’t change a thing.
