As a physician trained in India, I saw the devastating impact of infectious diseases like TB, malaria and waterborne illnesses, and the profound difference public health interventions can have. That led to my career in global health.
While completing my graduate studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, I found my passion for applied epidemiology — harnessing the power of data to transform infectious disease outcomes.
I joined ViiV Healthcare to tackle one of the deadliest epidemics of our time: HIV and AIDS. My contribution is focused on assessing the impact our medicines used to treat and prevent HIV have on people’s lives.
Recently, ViiV Healthcare brought the first long-acting injectable medicines to market, and my team gathers real-world evidence to assess how these therapies work outside of the clinical trial setting. We evaluate adherence, effectiveness and safety, and learn about people’s preferences to inform future research and development efforts, like our ongoing work to develop the next generation of ultra-long-acting injectable medicines. We work to understand how these medicines are used among children, pregnant individuals and other groups of people who might not have participated in clinical trials.
I’m immeasurably proud to play a part in ViiV Healthcare’s commitment to leaving no person with HIV behind!
