I grew up in a household surrounded by medicine and the medical needs of my sister. It was an environment I had become accustomed to and later became the focal point of my studies.
While performing a research study on long-distance backpackers as a medical student, I was most interested in the world of infectious diseases. As a result, I became interested in the problem-solving aspect of the field and loved playing detective by using clues to discover the root cause.
Ultimately, it comes down to helping people. I have spent the better part of 2 decades in the pursuit of saving lives, and this field has allowed me to help those in unique and rare circumstances.
