In this video, Iberia Romina Sosa, MD, PhD, discusses the results of a study presented at ASH Annual Meeting and Exhibition, which further probed the potential comorbidities in patients with a factor XII deficiency.

Sosa, an associate professor and chief of the division of hematology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, highlighted the study, which studied datasets to find whether factor XII deficiency might carry with it risk for bleeding, venous thromboembolism and other issues.

“As we are looking at new medicines or new targets that could potentially impact the effects of having a blood clot and mitigating that with the bleeding risk, I think that this is going to be an exciting piece of data,” Sosa said.
