CHICAGO — In this Healio video exclusive, Jessi Gold, MD, MS, discusses her keynote address during the Women in Medicine Summit on self-disclosure reciprocity and how sharing our stories changes culture.

Gold, chief wellness officer at University of Tennessee Health System, and associate professor of psychiatry at University of Tennessee Health Science Center, also debuted her new book, How Do You Feel? One Doctor’s Search for Humanity in Medicine, during the summit.

“It is easy to take care of yourself by simply asking yourself how you are doing,” she told Healio. “But we don’t do that very often because we spend so much time asking other people that we don’t ask ourselves, and so we don’t notice when we are struggling until we are far along in the struggling.”
