Few things in life are more devastating than having a brain tumor, both to the patient and to the patient's family. And so there's been a growing emphasis on providing these patients with more support with earlier palliative care, and also providing the families with more support. In particular, there are now trials going on to look at interventions both for the patient and their caregivers — trials to introduce earlier palliative care, to introduce strategies to help with the stress of dealing with these diagnoses. And there are also trials looking at interventions for caregivers to help them cope better and to provide better support for their loved ones.
