CHICAGO — In this Healio video exclusive at the Women in Medicine Summit, Kierstin Kennedy, MD, MSHA, FACP, SFHM, discusses why more women are needed now more than ever in the C-Suite.

Kennedy, chief medical officer and clinical associate professor in the department of medicine at University of Alabama at Birmingham, said that women bring inherent skills that traditionally have been thought to not be useful in leadership positions.

“What we are finding is that [those inherent skills] are useful and help drive the type of culture that leads individuals to stay in their roles, feel more compassion at work, and feel more of a belonging that makes them want to stay, which is more important than ever as we see women leaving the workforce in droves,” she said.
