Margaret Liang, MD, MSPHM, has been appointed director of the gynecologic oncology fellowship program for Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center.
Liang also will provide clinical services for patients within Cedars-Sinai Cancer’s division of gynecologic oncology.
Liang completed her gynecologic oncology fellowship at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai, and she later earned a master’s degree in health policy and management at UCLA.
"We are so pleased to have Dr. Liang back on our team, as she was one of the strongest fellows we had the opportunity to train and has been emerging as a leader in our field," Kenneth Kim, MD, MHPE, division director for gynecologic oncology at Cedars-Sinai Cancer, said in a press release. “Dr. Liang’s commitment to providing the highest quality care for patients, combined with her passion, knowledge and expertise, make her an outstanding addition to our team.”
Liang conducts health services research, with an emphasis on interventions to address financial hardship among individuals with cancer.
"I’m excited to return to Cedars-Sinai because I know from personal experience that we offer patients access to cutting-edge treatments while ensuring that they experience compassionate and well-coordinated cancer care," Liang said in the release. “My clinical research aims to improve the affordability of cancer care from the patient perspective, and I hope this work will have a positive impact on the greater Los Angeles community and beyond."
