In this video, Narjust Duma, MD, previews an ASCO Annual Meeting education session that will define microaggressions and describe strategies and actions that can be taken to improve the workplace environment.

The “Microaggressions, Bias and Equity in the Workplace” education session will take place on June 3 at 1 p.m. CDT during the ASCO Annual Meeting, occurring from June 3-7 in Chicago.

“Challenges will always exist, but it’s very important that you have the tools to overcome unconscious bias — which can range from gender bias to affinity bias — and that you’re provided the tools on how to face microaggressions and how to defend or protect trainees that might face microaggressions when you are around,” Duma told Healio.
