In the third installment of a four-video series timed to Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Maurie Markman, MD, spoke with Healio about how clinicians can help overcome HPV vaccine hesitancy.
Conversations should focus on HPV vaccination as a cancer prevention strategy rather than as a way to prevent a sexually transmitted disease, according to Markman, president of medicine and science at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and a HemOnc Today Editorial Board member.
“It would be difficult to believe — if we can communicate this effectively — that parents would not see this as a positive,” Markman told Healio.
