The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, has been selected by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 hospital in the country for diabetes and endocrinology, according to the publication’s 2022-2023 Best Hospitals rankings.
This year’s edition, released by U.S. News & World Report on July 26, includes an expanded set of health equity measures that highlight the hospitals providing more care to low-income patients and those that have racial disparities in surgical outcomes. The rankings also include three new cancer ratings: ovarian cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and uterine cancer surgery.
“For patients considering their options for where to get care, the best hospitals rankings are designed to help them and their medical professionals identify hospitals that excel in the kind of care they may need,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in a press release. “The new cancer ratings provide patients facing surgery for prostate cancer or gynecological cancer with previously unavailable information to assist them in making a critical health care decision.”
The top five U.S. hospitals for diabetes and endocrinology according to the 2022-2023 Best Hospitals rankings are:

“Mayo Clinic’s primary focus is our patients, and we strive every day to provide the highest quality innovative, integrated multidisciplinary medical care through our subspecialty practice, education and research,” Robert Wermers, MD, division chair of endocrinology at Mayo Clinic, told Healio. “Getting the top ranking in the U.S. News & World Report is humbling, especially when we realize that there are so many quality endocrine programs around the country. We hope these rankings in some way reflect our efforts as a division and institution in caring for those we serve.”
