In this video, Kellie Rodriguez, RN, MSN, MBA, CDE, president-elect of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, speaks with Diabetes in Real Life columnist Susan Weiner, MS, RDN, CDN, CDCES, FADCES, about plans for 2021.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the association has continued its work as planned this year, according to Rodriguez. Next year the association will maintain its focus on demonstrating the value of diabetes care and education specialists in the cardiometabolic health team.

Advocacy around the Expanding Access to Diabetes Self-management Training Act, reimbursement and telehealth will feature large in 2021, as will diversity and inclusion.
