Diabetes management mobile app now available

Cornerstones4Care Powered by Glooko, a mobile diabetes management app combining Glooko’s digital platform and data analytics with Novo Nordisk’s diabetes knowledge and personalized patient support, is now available, according to a press release from Novo Nordisk.

The companies announced their collaboration in January.

“In today’s environment, in order to truly improve the prospects of the 29 million people with diabetes in the U.S., we must aspire towards leadership in digital health that complements our research and development expertise,” David Moore, senior vice president of marketing for Novo Nordisk, said in the release.

The app uses Glooko’s ability to sync a user’s blood glucose and activity data from a majority of the currently available devices. The app tracks glucose, meals and activity all in one place, identifies trends and offers resources for people with diabetes to better manage their disease, according to the release.

“Ultimately our digital health solution will help health care practitioners gain round-the-clock insight into their patients, and empower people with diabetes to better manage their diabetes, with the aim of ultimately leading to better diabetes management outcomes,” Rick Altinger, CEO of Glooko, said in the release.

The app is free to all patients enrolled in Cornerstones4Care.com and free to download from both the Apple and Google Play App stores.
