WellDoc announced a new partnership with the American Association of Diabetes Educators to bring the association’s type 2 diabetes self-management curriculum to WellDoc’s digital therapeutic platform BlueStar, according to a press release.

BlueStar is a technology platform that provides people with type 2 diabetes resources to manage their disease between doctor’s visits.

The AADE curriculum focuses on seven areas of management: healthy eating, being active, monitoring, taking medication, problem solving, reducing risks and healthy coping.

“Working with AADE and its membership is both a natural and positive fit for WellDoc,” Kevin McRaith, president and CEO of WellDoc, said in the release. “The AADE curriculum is best-in-class, and offering it in a consumer-friendly digital format will only further enhance the value of BlueStar.”

As part of the partnership, WellDoc and AADE will also seek to engage AADE’s members to provide more tools and education through the digital platform, which can connect users with diabetes educators.
