ATA offers convenient access to thyroid guidelines

The American Thyroid Association recently added resources on thyroid and pregnancy and on hyperthyroidism to its library of printable pocket cards and mobile apps, which allow quick reference to up-to-date guidance on thyroid disorders, according to a press release.

The ATA develops guidelines and recommendations for thyroid disease and thyroid cancer and updates these every 3 to 5 years.

The printable cards and mobile summaries offer guidelines on common thyroid disorders, including medullary thyroid carcinoma, hypothyroidism, pediatric thyroid cancer and anaplastic thyroid cancer, differentiated thyroid cancer and thyroid nodules.

“These cards are a great resource for the busy clinician, and really helpful in coalescing the large amount of data into a concise guide,” Erik Alexander, MD, associate physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital, said in the release.

The cards and apps are available on the ATA website http://www.thyroid.org/professionals/ata-professional-guidelines.

Disclosures: Alexander is the co-chair of the thyroid and pregnancy guidelines.
