ObesityWeek will feature latest research, emerging treatments
Researchers, policy makers and health care providers will gather in New Orleans this fall for the largest international scientific and medical conference on obesity and weight loss, according to a press release from The Obesity Society and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
The fourth annual ObesityWeek, a weeklong conference featuring more than 1,000 abstracts on weight loss and prevention strategies, bariatric surgery and the genetics of obesity, will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in Louisiana from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4. The Obesity Society and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) will host ObesityWeek 2016, joined by nearly 30 partner organizations contributing symposia on the latest obesity research and its impact on health.

Farooqi will address neural and physiologic mechanisms involved in human energy balance.
Kelly Brownell, PhD, vice president of community health at Kaiser Permanente and dean of the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, also a keynote speaker, will address the issue of integrated health. Other featured topics will include the link between bone health and metabolism, using electronic health records to improve obesity care, the latest microbiome research and policy solutions for obesity prevention.
The conference will also feature the largest exhibit hall of its kind, showcasing new products, services and technologies from obesity-focused companies.
