BOSTON — Zachary T. Bloomgarden, MD, an Endocrine Today Editorial Board member and clinical professor in the department of medicine at Icahn School of Medicine, gives his perspective on a presentation involving the use of U500 insulin and other concentrated insulins.

According to Bloomgarden, the presenter raised the interesting point that use of insulin in smaller volumes might improve adherence.

Although the presenter touched on a role for insulin pumps in type 2 diabetes, Bloomgarden believes data are lacking.
