BOSTON — Constantine A. Stratakis, MD, a senior investigator and head of the section on genetics and endocrinology at the Eunice Kennedy Shrive National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, discusses his presentation on the genetic defects that affect adrenal development.

According to Stratakis, genetic defects of adrenal development are essential in clarifying a number of issues involving the adrenal gland’s formation and function. His group is engaged in identifying genes that lead to adrenolcortical tumors, most recently ARMC5, in the hopes of finding molecular targets for therapy.
