ADA, Janssen team up for diabetes education
The American Diabetes Association and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., have announced a collaboration to launch an educational campaign to help Americans living with diabetes understand and manage the disease, according to a company release.
The collaboration, Teaming Up to Take on Diabetes, will kick off at the Washington Redskins football game on Sunday, Dec. 7. Education booths and in-stadium videos will be available to educate people about type 2 diabetes and controlling blood glucose levels.
“Everyone has heard about diabetes, but some people may not realize how serious it can be,” Trent Williams, offensive tackle for the Washington Redskins and the campaign’s health ambassador, said in the release. “I lost my grandfather to complications of type 2 diabetes when I was young. I hope that through my work with the ADA, I can inspire people to find new ways to treat and even prevent the disease. Staying health is important for all of us — players and fans alike.”
