Naim Alkhouri, MD, of the Digestive Disease Institute at the Cleveland Clinic discusses nonalcoholic fatty liver disease which he describes as the hepatic manifestation of the obesity epidemic and the metabolic syndrome.
During this exclusive video, Alkhouri discusses the pathophysiology and treatment of NAFLD. According to Alkhouri the disease affects one in three adults in the United States as well as one in 10 children, an estimated 70 to 80 million Americans.
