T:slim insulin cartridges recalled due to risk for leaks

Tandem Diabetes Care announced a voluntary recall of more than 4,000 boxes of insulin cartridges that are used with the t:slim Insulin Pump, shipped on or after December 17, 2013, according to an FDA press release.

The manufacturer reported that the affected cartridges may be at risk for leaking, which could lead to an inaccurate dosage of insulin.

Health care providers and patients are asked to report adverse events related to the use of these products to the FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.
