POCN had seven Centers of Excellence resources for various conditions, such as breast cancer, HIV and schizophrenia, among others. With more than 16 million individuals in the U.S. experiencing some form of AD, the organization decided to add its eighth Center of Excellence focused on this condition.

According to the release, the resource center will equip advanced practice providers with the knowledge and necessary tools to manage AD. The platform will include resources for diagnosis, treatment and patient management, as well as a portal with patient resources and fact sheets.

The faculty team leading this initiative includes Andrew Baker, PA-C, MBA, a specialist in patients with inflammatory skin disease and skin surgery at West Ohio Dermatology, Kristine Kucera, PA-C, MPAS, DHS, associate clinical professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and PA at Lockhart Matter Dermatology, and Cynthia Trickett, PA-C, MPAS, of North Dallas Dermatology Associates.

“With these three experts as faculty advisors, I am certain that the new POCN Atopic Dermatitis Center of Excellence will be a game-changing resource for [advanced practice providers] in this space, helping patients to effectively manage this chronic disease,” Richard Zwickel, founder and CEO of POCN, said in the release.
