So, you know, people with atopic dermatitis have increased risks of other conditions in this triad, the atopic triad. So this includes like asthma and allergic rhinitis. So people that have those two other conditions are also more likely to have atopic dermatitis. But people with atopic dermatitis also have a genetic predisposition to a disrupted skin barrier and a propensity to have these aberrant cutaneous immune responses. So the precise link between the two is unclear but the concept of like when you have a barrier that's disrupted and you have increased allergen exposure that can then propagate this TH2-primed immune response.
