ATLANTA — In this Healio video exclusive, Seth S. Martin, MD, MHS, FAHA, discusses research into lipid disorders from the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session, examining the TACTiC study on statin therapy.

Martin, a cardiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Healio | Cardiology Today Editorial Board Member, discussed the study, which used a self-selection web app to get more patients access to statin therapy.

“This could lead to many people having easier access to statin therapy. And ultimately these people could then later connect with the health care system, and their statin therapy might be further adjusted, or they might have non-statin therapy added on,” Martin said.
