Vivalink announced the availability of the first multimodal wearable patch for remote BP monitoring for use in commercial research and development.

According to a company press release, the patch, which weighs 7.5 g and is the size of a small bandage, uses electrical signal-based technologies to capture ECG trace, heart rate, respiratory rate and systolic and diastolic BP on a single device.

The patch is designed for remote and ambulatory BP monitoring; is wireless network enabled; and continuously uploads data to clinical applications in the cloud, according to the release.

The reusable and rechargeable patch also contains built-in memory to continuously capture data during network outages.

The patch is also water-resistant and can be worn inconspicuously throughout the day, in remote settings and during sleep, according to the release.

The device is cleared by the FDA and NMPA for ECG and heart rate, and has a CE mark for ECG, heart rate and respiratory rate.
