ANAHEIM, Calif. — Reducing the embryo warming time from 15 minutes to 1 minute had no significant effect on the pregnancy or implantation rate for patients undergoing frozen embryo transfer, data presented here showed.

“The field of IVF in general is having some trouble with embryologists and staffing, and a lot of that boils down to quality of life — they work weekends, they work holidays,” Tyl H. Taylor, PhD, HCLD, laboratory director at Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte in North Carolina, told Healio. “Our overall goal was to try to develop techniques that make the IVF process quicker, easier and more efficient.”

In this video, Taylor discusses the key findings of the study and their importance for the future of IVF.
