VIDEO: O-RADS ultrasound may prevent unnecessary ovarian cancer surgery

SAN DIEGO — In this video, Rochelle F. Andreotti, MD, a professor of clinical radiology, radiological sciences and OB/GYN at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, recaps her endowed lecture on adnexal mass evaluation.

Her lecture, given at the ACOG Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting, covered the Ovarian-Adnexal Imaging-Reporting and Data System — or O-RADS — and how this ultrasound method can be used to optimize ovarian cancer outcomes.

“What it has that is unique is a lexicon that is evidence-based to describe all of these lesions, and we apply this to a risk-management system that evaluates all levels of risk,” Andreotti said.
