A California-based digital mental health provider announced the expansion of its comprehensive care services for organizations beyond the United States, beginning with the United Kingdom.
According to a press release from Headspace Health, the company plans to consolidate its meditation and mindfulness offerings with on-demand coaching, therapy and employee assistance program services into a single mental health solution intended to reduce administrative burden and cost for employers.
A recent study undertaken by Headspace revealed that one in three British workers stated employers could do more to support mental health, with 63% of employees admitting they sacrificed at least one day of work over a 12-month period because of stress, anxiety or other situations related to mental health.
Among the services offered in Headspace’s new stepped-care approach are: self-guided, app-based care activities to boost mindfulness, meditation, exercise and sleep; 24/7 access to behavioral health coaching; therapy offered by video or phone by licensed personnel; and employee assistance programs for issues such as child and elder care, per the release.
“We’re creating the mental health solution you’d design if you were creating the system from scratch,” Russell Glass, CEO of Headspace Health, said in the release. “Expanding this complete capability into the U.K. today constitutes a major milestone in our journey toward transforming mental health care to improve the health and happiness of the world.”
Headspace stated it plans to extend its services to additional markets throughout the year.
