Mdoloris, a company specializing in medical pain monitoring technologies, announced its latest device, a bracelet that can record and track the pain and well-being of those who are unable to verbalize or indicate what they are feeling.

According to a release from Mdoloris, the ANI Guardian bracelet has a miniaturized patented technology that until recently was only available in hospitals. It shares data to caregivers, family and medical professionals in real time.

“With our connected bracelet, we wanted to democratize and simplify a technology that was up until now only used in hospitals,” Mdoloris CEO Fabien Pagniez said in the released statement. “This wireless, wearable sensor is worn by the patient like a bracelet while using our unique indicator, the parasympathetic tone.”

Data from the device is sent via Bluetooth to connected smartphones through an application, which tracks data history and progression over time. Caregivers can set automatic alerts if a patient’s comfort drops below a certain range.

“We wish to address people suffering from strong cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s, on the autism spectrum or people at the end of life,” Pagniez said. “It regards all those who have lost the ability to communicate to ensure that they are comfortable and maintain their dignity.”

The ANI Guardian bracelet will be available in June 2023.
