ATLANTA — Obianuju Obi Berry, MD, MPH, a fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital, explains the importance of integrating psychiatric and intimate partner violence services.

“We know from research studies that intimate partner violence affects many of our psychiatric clients. So it is very imperative for us to have a better understanding of how IPV affects mental health,” Berry told Healio.com/Psychiatry.

Berry discusses the effects of trauma and how collaboration between intimate partner violence services and psychiatric services can benefit this population.
