ATLANTA — Marianne Goodman, MD, of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, discusses a workshop she conducted here regarding the management of suicidality in borderline personality disorder.

Goodman explains differences between individuals with borderline personality disorder who attempt suicide and those who complete suicide, how to use no-harm contracts, hospitalization, suicide safety planning and medication.

She also discusses what to do if a clinician is sued and how to avoid it.
