VIDEO: Research shows lasting effects of persistent marijuana use in teens

ATLANTA — Alecia Dager, PhD, of Yale School of Medicine and Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center, Hartford, Connecticut, discusses results from neuroimaging studies among typically developing teens with heavy marijuana use.

To assess effects of persistent marijuana use, Dager and colleagues had teens abstain from marijuana use for 30 days and complete cognitive tasks while undergoing MRI.

Teens were followed until they were aged 19 to 22 years.
