PHILADELPHIA — Virginia Runko, PhD, of the Ross Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders in Washington, DC, discusses the various steps of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia.

CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) is a tailored, short-term nonpharmacological approach to treating insomnia that includes a number of strategies, including sleep restriction, stimulus control, sleep hygiene and cognitive therapy.

Runko explains the significance of these strategies and encourages clinicians to review her presentation slides on the ADAA website.
