Stan L. Block, MD, FAAP, is a professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. He is also president of Kentucky Pediatric and Adult Research Inc.
“I have been president for 30-plus years of the largest pediatric outpatient research group in the USA,” Block said. “My group has been instrumental in the research and development of most of the currently used morbidity-sparing and life-saving pediatric vaccines” — including multiple types of HPV, pneumococcal, rotavirus, influenza and meningococcal vaccines. “Because of our vast research experience, we were selected as one of 50 international sites to test the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in adults and children.”
