VIDEO: Addressing the effects of armed conflict on children

ORLANDO, Fla. — The AAP recently released a policy statement about the physical and psychological toll that armed conflict takes on children globally, which can persist throughout their lives. In this video perspective, Jeffrey Goldhagen, MD, MPH, FAAP, chief of the division of community and societal pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, discusses some of the key takeaways from the policy statement.

“This is not only the most profound public health issue impacting children, it’s also the most perverse,” Goldhagen said.
