Hageman currently serves as Directory of Quality Improvement in Neonatology at Comer Children’s Hospital, senior clinician at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and an emeritus attending pediatrician at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

Hageman’s responsibilities for Pediatric Annals include upkeep of physician review and editorial direction to ensure the journal continues to publish clinically relevant articles for pediatricians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants practicing modern medicine.

“Dr. Hageman has been working with [Pediatric Annals] for many years as a Board Member and consultant; now, we welcome his guidance as Editor,” Stephanie Arasim Portnoy, senior vice president of the Health Care Books and Journals division at SLACK Incorporated, said in a press release. “His professional expertise and commitment to developing content in varied areas such as neonatology, rheumatology, behavior/development, critical care and quality improvement will continue to provide our readers with a wealth of knowledge opportunities.”

Pediatric Annals has been in continued publication for more than 40 years as a Medline-indexed journal with a mission to provide pediatricians and other clinicians with the most up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment for pediatric diseases and disorders. Each issue produces original research and review articles, case challenges and feature articles and a Healthy Baby/Healthy Child column. The journal is available online at www.healio.com/pedannals.

“Healio.com/pedannals is an established online destination for pediatric research and review, because clinicians are eager to receive essential information on the core topics that they see in the office each day,” Hageman said in a press release. “Each article of Pediatric Annals will continue to provide pediatricians and other pediatric health care providers with focus on these issues, with actionable takeaways that will allow them to improve both their skills and patient outcomes.”

Hageman succeeds Stanford T. Shulman, MD, Pediatric Annals Editor of more than 14 years.
