Overview:
Adolescent immunizations can reduce morbidity and save lives. Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is one such example, yet immunization rates remain low. In this educational activity, leading clinicians will review the epidemiology of HPV infection as well as the short- and long-term benefits of HPV immunization. Strategies for incorporating HPV immunization into everyday practice, eliminating barriers to immunization, and communication strategies for patients and parents will also be discussed.
Target Audience: This activity was developed for pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment, management, and prevention of HPV in the adolescent patient. There are no prerequisites for this educational activity.
Unlabeled and Investigational Usage:
The audience is advised that this continuing medical education activity may contain references to unlabeled uses of FDA-approved products or to products not approved by the FDA for use in the United States. The faculty members have been made aware of their obligation to disclose such usage. All activity participants will be informed if any speakers/authors intend to discuss either non-FDA approved or investigational use of products/devices.
