VIDEO: Virtual reality changing the way visual field testing is done
LAS VEGAS – The new virtual reality headsets are changing the way visual field testing is performed on patients, Mitch Ibach, OD, FAAO, said at Vision Expo West.
“We’re not having [patients] in a dark isolated room, not having them sit up into a device, but rather [using] a headset similar to virtual reality headsets for gaming or other applications,” he said.
He also noted that updates have been made to the Humphrey Field Analyzer (Zeiss).
