LAS VEGAS – Heru announced the launch of a dark adaptation modality, the newest addition to its wearable vision screening platform.

Heru chief marketing officer Brandon Barber told Healio that Heru’s dark adaptation in combination with the company’s contrast sensitivity test can help detect subclinical age-related macular degeneration must faster than standard testing.

The test is simple, fast, noninvasive and does not require dilation, Barber said. The rapid version takes about 4.5 minutes, and the extended version takes about 20.

“We feel this can increase the marketability of your practice and also help you drive revenue,” he said.
