BOSTON – Orthokeratology is traditionally used for myopia management, but it can also be suitable for adults who experience discomfort with soft contact lens wear, Andrew Pucker, OD, PhD, FAAO, told Healio Optometry here at the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting.

Some estimate that 80% of soft lens wearers experience discomfort, Pucker said. He conducted a study that showed adults easily adapt to the switch to ortho-K, wearing the lens while they sleep, taking it off in the morning and seeing well during the day.
